How It Works

Designer pieces, worn and loved, then passed on. You get the dress for your event, we take care of the dry cleaning, and it goes back into the wardrobe for the next person. No more $600 dresses sitting in your cupboard with the tags still on!

Find your dress

Browse by occasion, length or size. Every listing shows the RRP and the size we hold. If you're between sizes or unsure, message us. We've had our hands on every piece and we're always happy to help you find the right one.

Local to Melbourne? You can book a try-on at our West Footscray warehouse and see the pieces on before you commit.

Choose your date

Pick the date you need the dress in your hands. Every hire is 4 days, which covers one event comfortably.

Your hire starts the day the dress is with you, not the day you place your order. Book early for Spring Carnival, formal season and December, as the best pieces go weeks ahead.

Need it a little longer? If no one is booked straight after you, we can usually extend for $20 per day. Just ask before your hire ends.

And there's no bond. Most hire stores hold a few hundred dollars of your money for a week. We don't.

Get it

Collect from our warehouse, free. Pick up from our warehouse at 40 Robbs Road, West Footscray VIC 3012. You can only collect your dress on your hire start date, between 9am and 5pm. It isn't available to collect on any other day, and pick up hire start dates are Monday to Friday only.

Posted Australia-wide, $30. That covers Express Post to you and the prepaid return satchel in the bag, so there's nothing more to pay when you send it back.

Melbourne metro: usually next business day
Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide, Canberra: 1 to 2 business days
Perth, Hobart, Darwin and regional: 2 to 4 business days

We dispatch within one business day. If your event is close, message us before you book and we'll tell you honestly whether it will get there in time.

Wear it

The fun part! A few things that protect the piece (and your wallet):

Let fake tan, perfume and deodorant dry completely before the dress goes on. Fake tan is the number one enemy of hire dresses, and it doesn't always come out.
Please don't wash it, spot-clean it or take it to your own dry cleaner. Cleaning is on us, and home attempts usually set a stain rather than lift it.
Don't alter, pin or hem it. If the length isn't right, tell us before you book and we'll help you find something else.
If something happens, let us know straight away. A tear we know about on the night is far easier to fix than one we find a week later.

Send it back

Return it by the last day of your hire. No need to clean it, just pop it back in the bag it came in.

Posted: use the prepaid satchel and lodge it over the counter at any Australia Post outlet by the last day of your hire. Keep the receipt. Your hire ends the day you lodge it, not the day it reaches us, so any Australia Post delays are on us, not you.

Collected: drop it back to our West Footscray warehouse between 9am and 5pm on the last day of your hire. If your last day falls on a weekend or public holiday, bring it back by 5pm the next business day.

What's included

Professional dry cleaning after every hire.
Normal wear. A popped stitch, a loose thread, light makeup at the neckline, a scuffed hem from the dance floor. Wear the dress properly, that's what it's for.
A prepaid return satchel with every posted order.
No bond, ever.

What's not

Damage beyond normal wear: rips, burns, broken zips, pulled beading, and permanent stains from red wine, fake tan, oil or ink.
Loss, theft, or a dress that never comes back. Every piece has a recorded replacement value, and we're happy to tell you what it is before you book.
Late returns, which hold up the next person's booking. These are $20 per day.

A quick note on fit

Hire isn't like retail. We hold only one of most pieces, in a single size, so we can't post you a backup size to try at the same time. Check the Size and Fit Guide, and if you're not sure, just ask.

If a dress arrives and it really doesn't fit, contact us the same day. We'll try to swap you into something else from the wardrobe or give you a credit. We can't refund because a piece wasn't quite what you pictured, but we'd always rather hear from you than have you stay quiet.
